Please describe your problem in detail

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Before I can advice you anything it is important for me to know following details.

1. Details of first episode- How the problem started and what were the symptoms according to you and other family members
2. Current symptoms
3. Medications and dosage
4. Do you have family history of psychiatric illness- If yes details

Since schizophrenia is chronic disorder most patients needs treatment for life long. In medical terms it is not different from diabetes and Hypertension where life long treatment is required.
In most cases when there are no more symptoms the medication can be lowered to certain degree but complete discontinuation causes relapse of schizophrenia.

I hope this assists you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to you.
I would be glad to help you.
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Metformin and exercise

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I understand that you are fond of sweets and in this situation I feel there are two options
1. First definitely exercise- A regular exercise of 30-45 minutes in a day or 150 minutes per week is enough to control weight gain

2. Inclusion of green leafy vegetables and fruits in diet

3. Metformin - This is a medication which can help in reduction of diet leading to weight loss
