Brief Answer:
Scarred lungs may repair in some cases if it is caused by ARDS or pneumonia

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Scarred lungs may repair in some cases if it is caused by ARDS or pneumonia.
ARDS or pneumonia may cause small collapse of lung parenchyma(it may appear as scar in X-rays) and is some cases it may inflate again with control of infection and clear of fluids. But if there are formation of fibrotic bands then it is irreversible.

It is good that scarred region is repairing,it is a good sign and it indicates recovery.
