Is Removal Of Port-a-cath Done With A Local Anesthetic?

Question: I am having my port a XXXXXXX removed Friday. I am having the procedure in the doctor's office using a local anesthetic. Is this a fairly easy procedure and having it done with a local anesthetic a standard procedure?
