Is Recurrence Of Depression Possible While Weaning Off Viibryd?
Question: How do I carefully wean myself off of 30 mg. Viibryd to start taking 20 mg. of Lexapro. I get worried that while I am weaning myself off I will fall into depression.

The Viibryd is highly bound to plasma proteins and so if you take it concomitantly along with another drug of the same class i.e Lexapro (SSRI's), it will increase the free plasma concentration of Lexapro and that's dangerous.
Taper from 30mg to 15mg per day for 4 days, and then 10mg per day for 7 days. And then you should start with 10mg per oral Laxapro once daily. Your physician may increase Lexapro from 10mg to 20mg per day after 7days. But we have to maintain the minimum effective dosage if needed for longer time periods.
