Posted on Wed, 10 Feb 2016
Question: Should I just remove 12 yr old saline inplants with an uplift or remove and replace? In the original question I had mentioned that I have RA and not sure if the inplants caused this, I have had RA for the past 4 years and do not take medication for it with the exception of prednisone for occasional flair ups.

Brief Answer:
RA is not due to implants.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

It is always better to do not have any foreign objects in the body. We never know how implants affect human body. Even the safest one, can somehow stimulate immune system and be responsible for RA. This is just a theory. For sure it has not been proven and we can not say that this implants have caused RA. Not at all.

The decision is up to you. It all depends what do you expect. If you still want to have breasts like before, go ahead and replace them. If you do not bother about your breasts anymore, removing the implants is the right decision. And it will be better for your body. Otherwise, after another 12 years you will struggle with the very same problem.

Hope this helps somehow.
Regards.
