Question: Actually I had sex with my boy friend during my periods without any safety. So I was scared abt dat. I took pill dat is unwanted 72 the very next day? Is it safe ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

You do not have any chances of pregnancy since you had the intercourse during the safe period. In addition, you took the emergency pill which offers very good protection when taken within the stipulated time interval.

As the pill contains high dose of hormone, you can expect withdrawal bleeding after 3-7 days. The next natural period also may get delayed by a week or two.

Please see your health care provider for further help if you become overdue by ten days.

In the future, restrict the use of emergency pill for one or two occasions per year and go for regular contraception instead.
