Brief Answer:
Vegetarian food is preferable.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
It is best to put him on a vegetarian home made food easy to digest and as per his choice. Avoid hot and spicy foods. Increase the fluid intake like milk, buttermilk, juices, etc.
Hope my answer is helpful.
