Is Pink Discoloration Under Eyelids A Sign Of HIV / AIDS Infection?

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Dec 2015
Question: Can I get HIV/AIDS from having sex with one person who has been tested and isn't positive for it? I'm freaking out thinking that I have it because under my eyelids are a bit pink and someone said I might have AIDS. I've only ever slept with one man and that's it. I have done oral with another man, but he was a Virgin and never done anything before

Brief Answer:
Only testing yourself for HIV can rule out HIV beyond any doubt

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

Earliest manifestation of HIV disease will appear 3-4 weeks after the exposure. Color change below the eye lids are not common manifestation for early HIV disease. After crossing this early manifestation the individual remains asymptomatic for more than five years in the presence of an infection. When you had your last sex contact?
When your partner was within window period for AIDS, the test would be non reactive even with the presence of an infection. So your partner's word can not be taken as absolute one. Similarly virginity of an individual by his words can not be reliable to the extent of 100%. Even an exposure 7-10 years back also can not be ruled out as a possible cause of infection.
Only the HIV test 12 weeks after the exposure, can either rule out or confirm the possibility of an infection.
Seek the help of a physician for further help. Safe sex always will protect you in future.
