Hello and welcome to Health Care Magic,

I can understand that the pain associated with Albright syndrome is increasing in intensity and thus you want to use opoids (pethidine).

The dose of all of the opoids has to be monitored closely as they are known to cause dependence.

At 13 years of age the dose has to be very carefully titrated as the dose is different in adults and children.

Moreover, there are many contra-indications for the use of opoids e.g. respiratory distress, hepatic insufficiency, etc. All these diseases are not expected at such a young age. However, it will be good for you to refer to your treating doctor, get the drug prescribed and to use it under supervision.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.

Hello and welcome again,

Yes, pethidine is as good as tramadol.

If your doctor has prescribed the drug then do follow the dose as prescribed.

Be aware of the adverse effects e.g. respiratory distress, muscle flaccidity, hypotension and coma like state. If any of these adverse effects appear, keep suitable dose of naloxone for the reversal of these effects.

If you have more queries, please ask them.
