Is Pain Under Ribs A Symptom Of Ectopic Pregnancy?
Question: hi i took postinor1 on the 20th of XXXXXXX that is when i got of my periods and have sex with my husband.After that i got slight brown discharge on 26 july and it continued till 29 th july.
On 3rd july i got severe stomach pain on left side and tummy was fully bloated.Later on loss of appetite and weight loss of 7 kgs.Was not able to pass gas and stool.Got vaginal bleeding on 26 july but it was shorted 4 days than normal period duration that is 6 days.
Blood and urine test was negative.With my urine test doctor found little blood and some leukocytes.
My crp was aslo fluctuating the highest being 9.6.
It now 28 August now i feel some dull pain left side under ribs.Some time on lower left side.My left middle back is continuoulsy heavy.
Kidneys are fine with no stone.Colud it be any chronic ectopic pregnanacy in my belly or fallopian tubes.
My pelvic ultrasound was fine.but the sonographer told she could not see fallo pian tubes in ultrasound.
What is all that? could it be any type of chronic ectopic pregnanacy in tubes or abdomin? if not than why all this after since two months?As i have read that in rare cases ectopic pregnanacies have happened accmpanies with beta hcg less than 2?
Also pain in left ribs with pinching pain some time to right and back.also to lower and middle left abdomin.some time i can feel pain when it comes and i press.???

I am sorry for the situation you are in.
From what you are describing, no chance for chronic ectopic pregnancy. However, you can run beta HCG testing to determine it.
Next, what you are experiencing is related to postinor use (side effects). Therefore, to my opinion, you should discuss with your OG specialist to stop taking it.
What worries me in your case is losing weight for a short period. It might be partially due to loss of appetite, but not at this extent.
The presence of blood and leukocytes in the urine is indicative for possible Urinary tract infection (UTI) and/or urine microstones that cannot be detected in the ultrasound examination.
I advise to run urine culture and sensitivity testing to rule out UTI.
Being bloated is a side effect of using postinor. Bloateness is causing pain in left ribs. Once you stop using postinor, all your problems will be subsided too.
Can you please give more details on your bowel movements:
- are they increased?
- any diarrhea? constipation?
- blood when passing the stool?
Can you please provide your tests reports to get them analyzed for further assistance?
Meanwhile, I advise to:
- eat often and small portions
- avoid fried/fatty foods
- avoid carbonated drinks or those who can increase gas
- take mephenamic acid to reduce pain
- increase water intake

I never used any contraceptive pill.This is the first time i took any pill emergency pill postinor 1 ON 20 XXXXXXX Not taking any pill.
Earlier i was very constipated and not even able to pass gas or stools but in between i got some loose motion.Now bowels motion is normal even though go to bathroom regularly but this problem is here.
I have done one ct scan it shows nothing even.But now in a latest urine test no leuko cytes or blood but my pain under left ribs and belly button and lower left side with continuous middle left back pressure is here all the time.
In rare case patients even beta hcg less than 2 have ectopic pregnanacy in abdomen or fallopian tube.could you think as i have this problem any thing like that.
I loss my appetite as i was very eatable person with no gyne or other stomach problem at all as such.I didnt have scanned reports but hope fully i will and send you.
Also my left back x ray shows some damge in my tissues where i am feeling pain.but all this started after postinor 1 accompanied with strong belly pain mostly to left side.now it is dull under ribs also middle left and lower left belly area.

I still think the pain you are having has nothing to do with ectopic pregnancy. You can run trans-vaginal ultrasound to evaluate the genital tract further. Ovarian cysts should be ruled out, especially those that are not easily detected by ultrasound.
Bowel spasms or muscular problems can be other factors causing pain and tummy noise. Pancreas problems should be also excluded too.
I advise to:
- eat often and small portions
- avoid foods that would cause gas
- be more physically active
- avoid citrus, chilly, spicy, oily foods
- take buscopan or mephenamic acid for the pain
