Is Klebsiella Pneumoniae Urinary Tract Infection Contagious?

Question: I have just been diagnosed with Klebsiella Peumoniae in my urine. Is this contagious to my husband? I am in a wheel chair and my husband helps me with everything. He is 83 years old.

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been detected to have Urinary Tract Infection by Klebsiella Peumoniae Organisms.

Though you are in wheelchair and taken cared up by your 83 years old husband ther are no possibility of this infection getting transmitted to him only by mere contact .

However he has to take due precautions while handling your cloths and use disposable hand gloves while assisting you in your routine activities and wash his hands with soap solution and anti septic lotions like Dettol after nursing care ..
