Is It Safe To Undergo Arthroscopy With Two Stunts In Heart?
Question: Hi,
My father has to undergo shoulder surgery as I have explained in my previous queries(Please see attached x-rays). Since he has two stunts in his heart. and doctor says it is risky because he has heart stunt. Please clarify my following queries :
1. In my father case can he undergo arthroscopy kind of surgery, what I understood is in arthroscopy Dr. will insert the camera and other essentials required stuff from outside of skin by making holes. if this is true any magnet is also inserted using arthroscopy. Which might affect heart stents
2. or in his case they will do open surgery.
3. if I didn't understand correctly please clarify me why they say because he is heart patient and also he has nerological issue (one nerve is dry), I mean how heart will be affected. I am not sure if I am asking too much. But We need all these details and I see this might be best way to understand and would help us in making our decision.
4. If we plan to keep his hand like this , is there any pain killer cream which he can use as when he feel pain

-- Arthroscopy is a tool used to perform minor operations in the joint. Arthroscopy cannot help for major surgeries like one needed for your father's shoulder

-- The risk is huge, due to open surgeries in any part of the body there can arise blood clots. These blood clots can block the stents and can worsen the heart disease. The clots can also blocks the minute arteries where stent is not placed and give rise to a new blocked segment.

-- Diclofenac pain killer gel can be used.
