Brief Answer:
Not 100% safe for fetus.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Can i know why you have been given obimet. Is it for pcod or diabetes?

Obimet is metformin.

Metformin is not advised during pregnancy. Insulin is the drug of choice for diabetes in pregnancy and if obimet is given to you for pcod then also it is not needed during pregnancy as pregnancy itself reduces a lot of features of pcod.

Though i agree that there are latest studies that says that metformin is safe but everything is still in study phase and not come in regular protocols.

Till recently all oral hypoglycemic drugs (including metformin) where contraindiacated in pregnancy. So to be on safer side do not use it.

There are reports both for and against it and so when in doubt better to avoid.

My advise will be to stop the drug immediately as it is not 100% safe for the fetus.
