Is It Safe To Have Duphaston During Pregnancy?

Question: Hello Doctor,
I am 5 weeks pregnant, I had brown discharge since last 4 day, today I had few drops of bleeding as well.
my doctor had recommended me duphaston 10 mg tablets 2 times a day. I had rushed to emergency to a near by clinic and that doctor recommended me Susten 400 mg tablets (Orally)
I am confused, I should take Duphaston 10 mg or use Susten 400 mg tablets or I should continue both?

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Brown coloured discharge what you had also was bleeding. It was happening slowly which was now bleeding openly.

2. This is possibly due to sub chorionic hemorrhage. This will subside soon.

3. Meanwhile you continue both tablets duphston and susten.

4. These will support pregnancy and reduce bleeding.
