Is It Safe To Discontinue Seroquel At Once?
Question: I'm on Seroquel for sleeping now (one week ago), I'm taking 50mg at night. My question is if I can stop taking at once or I have to do so gradually and for how long .I want to try something natural, like herbs or something like that as a sleep aid.And how long I have to wait to start with any natural things.Thanks for your help

50mg of seroquel is not a high dose. You have been taking this just for a week.
In my opinion, you can stop the drug straight away.
However, I would like to mention that every individual reacts differently to every drug. Generally, there should be no withdrawal symptoms on stopping seroquel 50mg at once.
But if you experience any withdrawals like mood swings, restlessness, irritation and inability to sleep, you must reduce the dose to half (25mg), take it for one week and then stop.
You can start herbal therapies for sleep along with seroquel. There would be no major drug interactions. Valerian roots are commonly used for sleep induction.
Please keep your doctor informed about all the drug changes you make.
