I have a general query on drinking water after a meal. Would you recommend drinking water immediately after a meal or should there be a gap. Please share your input on merits and demerits of the same.

Thanks for contacting Healthcare Magic.

Medically speaking it does not matters whether you drink water immediately after meals or after a gap. Since stomach has limited space, if you drink water immediately after meals, you may be able to drink only a limited amount of water. Also people who have gastro-esophageal reflux disease may have problem if the drink immediately after meals, since reflux will increase due to filling of stomach.
