Age of onset of bipolar disorder in general is between 20 to 40 years. Almost 80-90% of cases of bipolar disorder onset before age of 50.
Bipolar onset after age of 50 is called late onset bipolar disorder.
Most of such cases are associated with some physical/neurological findings.
After age of 70 bipolar can start but we need to do detail neurological evaluation with Brain MRI scan.
