Question: I am a 35 year old woman, very athletic. Since the birth of my second child 10 months ago, I keep pulling muscles everywhere from doing nothing basically. My neck, shoulder area, my knees and calves and feet all get injured very easily. I am very frustrated because nobody has any answers.

Brief Answer:
Advice to check calcium levels.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for your query.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding increase calcium demand in your body. It is possible that women experience calcium deficiency after childbirth. Calcium deficiency can cause muscle cramping/pulled muscle.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to check blood calcium levels. You can also start over the counter Vitamin D/ calcium supplements.

If you develop muscle cramps, apply heat on affected muscle and stretch.

Hope this answers your question.
