Brief Answer:
no it will not cause any problem, semen analysis is name of test

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thanks for writing to us.

Ans 1.
After masturbation it is not necessary to wash. It will not cause any problem. But yes you should wash your private parts during bath and maintain proper hygiene.

Ans 2.
If you are physically fit and healthy and can do sex without any problem there is no need to go for any test except semen analysis. You can consult any good reputed lab for semen analysis like thyrocare.
You should not do masturbation or sex at least for 3 days to give semen sample. This will give the best results.
In semen analysis if everything comes fine, no further testing is needed.
If some problem is there according to results other tests are advised.
Cost of semen analysis varies from 300 to 500 Rs.

Both partners should go for sickle cell trait and thalassemia minor checking prior to pregnancy. These tests are also done at reputed labs.
Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

I am physically fit and dont drink amd smoke.I have also not yet done sex with any one and am single now.I have confident on my health but want to certify that with good doctor.I do masturbate once in a week or sometimes in rare case 3 days once.

What is the procedure followed in semen analysis?Should I go with having food? Will they ask to collect semen in lab itself?

Brief Answer:
preferably give sample in lab, food intake does not matter

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up.

It is good that you are healthy. If you are single and did not have sex yet technically no specific indication of semen analysis but you can go for your satisfaction.

Masturbation is natural and normal thing. It is done by 95% of the males in the world, mostly before marriage as well as when wife is away, in menses or pregnant after marriage. It is not at all harmful. Frequency of masturbation done by an individual varies from once a day to once a week. It depends upon individual libido, wish and timing. It neither causes any weakness nor any problem in sexual activity. So your habit of masturbation is absolutely normal.

After collection semen needs to be processed fast in lab so mostly sample given at laboratory. If lab is not far from your home you can collect at home and send it to lab within half an hour. In lab they provide privacy and environment so person can masturbate without hesitation and give sample.
Semen sample can be given at any time. Food intake does not matter at all.

After 3 days of abstinence sperm concentration is there at highest level.
Longer or shorter periods of abstinence may result in a lower sperm count or decreased sperm motility. Samples produced after 3 days of abstinence will usually have the highest numbers of motile sperm with the greatest forward velocity, when compared to samples produced after shorter or longer abstinence.
Some men think saving up all their sperm for the day of their test is what’s preferable, but waiting too long between ejaculates is a big mistake: Older sperm begin to die if ejaculations are infrequent and the percentage of live sperm decreases with increasing abstinence. So a long period of sexual inactivity can result in less active sperm.

Hope you have got answers of all your questions.

Thanks for answering that questions.
I was under assumption that I can go for test even after 2 weeks of with out having masturbate. Thanks for detailed explanation.

From your answer I also came to know that after marriage , should have sex frequently to have pregenant.

Last question

So you are saying life of a sperm is only 3 days?

If that is the case before marriage few days we should have ejaculated to increase chance of pregnancy. Is my understanding correct.I am under assumption that we should stop masturbate few months before marriage to have good sex on marriage day.

So enough sperm will be normally generated in 3 days?

So I am planning to go for test on 4th day of not ejaculating. Will that give correct result?

Brief Answer:
yes you can do test on 4th day, that is the best way

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No it does not mean that sperm life is only 3 days. In general from birth to death sperms remain alive in male genital tract from 50 to 100 days. However for fertility quality and motility of sperms matter much.
Semen is produced by secretion from seminal vesicles and sperms from testicles. When both of them mixed in seminal vesicles it becomes semen.

Semen production in turn governed by rate of expulsion of semen. When male does not ejaculate for 3 days there will be highest concentration of young active sperms in semen. After 3 days due to storage of semen reflexively semen production rate decreases and concentration of young active sperms also decreases. It means optimum level of healthy sperm concentration is reached after 3 days of abstinence. So it will give the best result during semen analysis.

For pregnancy you need to maintain abstinence for 3 days before fertile period starts.Sperms remain alive in female genital tract up to five days.
