Question: Is it ok to take a 24 hour Allegra every 12 hours? My allergies are horrible

Yes, it is ok to increase the dose.

Detailed Answer:
You can increase the dose of the Allegra if you find that that is controlling your seasonal allergies (and it is ragweed pollen time right now). Or you may want to consider a different antihistamine such as Zyrtec, which may be more effective. And during allergy season, 24 hour Zyrtec can also be taken twice a day, but I would suggest starting with once a day.

You might also want to add a nasal steroid. These do not work immediately - takes several days - but will decrease the reactivity and inflammation of your nasal passages and sinuses.
