Brief Answer:
medicines and motivational deaddiction counseling

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I appreciate your decision to quit smoking. It will give you good future health.

Remember an important point that for any deaddiction motivation of the person to quit the substance is essential. Drugs are there to prevent withdrawal and smoothing the process of quitting.

You are smoking at least 10 cigarettes per day. If you stop cold turkey, you may have some withdrawal symptoms. You need bupropion, anti anxiety medicines (like propranolol, etizolam or clonazepam) and nicotine pastilles/gums to prevent withdrawal symptoms and stop smoking.
You can reduce 1 cigarette every third day with medicines also.

Motivational deaddiction counseling will help to quit smoking as well as to prevent relapse.

Please consult your psychiatrist, decide plan for deaddcition and move ahead.

All the best.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
