Is irregular heart beat a cause for concern?

Question: My heart skips a beat once a min or so. Is this a problem?

Dear Sir,

From your description it looks like you have extrasystolies, it is an arrhythmia, when there are premature heart contractions. If they are less than 200-400 a day it is not dangerous. If they are more or you are very symptomatic there will be a need for treatment.
I would advise you to have a holter monitoring done, it is an examination when your 24 hour ECG is registered, so your physician can see the exact amount of arrhythmias and decide whether there is a need for treatment.
