Is Hydrogen Peroxide Effective When Suffering From Tinnitus?
Question: I have been suffering recently from tinnitus. It was very mild for a year or so but the last few weeks it has increased in severity to a point that it is very distracting. I have an appointment with an ear, nose and throat doctor XXXXXXX 15 and my family doctor recently pulled the wax from my outer ear which was pretty bad. Since then my ears feel plugged again and the ringing has worsened. A friend is advising me to put hydrogen peroxide and water in my ear to "clean the inner ear". I feel pressure and sounds are beginning to get distorted. Is this safe and could it help or make things worse? I tried to get back to my family doctor today but he was closed. I don't want to try this if it could make things worse.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having tinnitus due to impacted wax.
As such, impacted cerumen (wax) can be removed with liquifaction by wax solvents followed by syrenging procedure done by an ent surgeon.
In my opinion, hydrogen peroxide can cause mucosal ulcers, where it can cause infection in ear canal and ear drum.
I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get otoscopy ( tinnitus can be due to other causes).
