Posted on Tue, 6 Oct 2015
Question: I am petrified that I have lung cancer I have been very hoarse voice cougha little bit but not that much. When I do though it is kind of raspy too.in the last week and a half the right side of my chest like under my arm has been hurting. A lot of night sweats and sometimes feel like I stop breathing in the night and my heart races. Are there other things with the symptoms that can cause something other than lung cancer I do not smoke I never have I'm 54 female. I was a singer for 30 years and was pretty hard on my vocal chords but I would think they wouldn't bother me now as I don't seem very much

Brief Answer:
Get done chest x ray first.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
At present, no need to worry for lung cancer.
First get done chest x ray.
Lung infection can also cause similar symptoms.
So first get done chest x ray to rule out lung cancer.
If chest x ray is normal than no need to worry for lung cancer.
Singer's nodule on vocal cords can also cause cough and hoarseness of voice. So also consult ENT doctor for vocal cord examination.
So get done chest x ray to rule out lung cancer.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
