Question: if I am immune to Hep A myself but touch a contaminated surface and then touch my belongings, can I spread the infection to someone else via my belongings?

Brief Answer:
NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you are immunized against hepatitis A, you cannot be a source of contamination to others. This is transmitted through food and poor sanitary conditions. You cannot spread it through your belongings.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

The problem is I have OCD, so when I get such thoughts it's really difficult for me to relax.
In other words: I have had Hep A as a child. I touched a toilet seat last night and may have not washed my hands enough before handling my handbag etc. Even if I had somehow transmitted some Hep A virus onto my things, I would not be able to spread it further, and I am not a risk to other people, like my boyfriend. Is that right?
