Posted on Wed, 7 Dec 2016
Question: Hi

I need some help and information. I am thinking of getting hair transplants. This requires surgery under local anasthetic.
I want to know is it ok for scalp to have local anasthetic? Or is it no good. Does it affect your brain?

Brief Answer:
transplant conducted under local anaesthesia, is safe, no effect on brain

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic

Hair transplant surgery is conducted under local anaesthesia.
It is absolutely safe to get local anaesthetic in the scalp skin.
It doesn't affect the brain. It is given in the layer of the skin only and not very deep.
