Posted on Tue, 21 Jun 2016
Question: My mother has emphysema and requires oxygen always. A year ago she was told that she had 27% usage of her lungs. Her mouth appears to have a grayish tint, does this mean that her lungs have further weakened?

Brief Answer:
If it is bluish then it is due to further worsening of lung condition.

I live 2.5 hours away so I can't take a picture, but I will follow up the next time that I visit her. The color was definitely grey, no bluish tint. Thank you for your response.
