Is Exogenous Ketones Supplement Effective In Treating Lung Cancer?
Question: A close relative is dealing with lung cancer. Apparently Stage 1. She strongly prefers to take natural/alternative approaches to fighting it rather than chemo, radiation, or surgery. A trusted nutrition-related health consultant of ours has suggested exogenous ketonic supplements as part of a treatment strategy. Any thoughts on that? Thanks.

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
The dietary supplements (including ketonic ones) are used to prevent, rather then to treat a diagnosed cancer.
In the phase of recovering from chemotherapy, supplements can help to recover faster, but have no effect in treating a cancer.
The only 3 ways of treating cancer are surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. These are the only ways which are evidence based. In some cancers it is one or others more recommended.
In the case of stage 1 lung cancer, the best way which is recommended to treat that cancer is surgery, because stage 1 means that the cancer is localized and can be removed in healthy borders and so hopefully the patient will heal.
There is radiation therapy too which is recommended for some types of lung cancers in the 1st stage.
On the other side, I would not recommend to wait because stage 1 cancer goes bigger to stage 2 and so on. That means that the treatment of a more spread cancer is more invasive.
