Posted on Fri, 13 Feb 2015
Question: I have a 5 month old baby girl...she is a twin and was born at 30 weeks, she is doing great. I have noticed over the past several weeks, she sticks her tongue out quite a bit...is this a worrisome issue? Can it be a sign of cerebal pulsy? Her adjusted age is between 2.5 and 3 months....she is also not babbling a lot, she does smile and laugh...is this worrisome also

Brief Answer:
Twin

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
what you are describing is not worrisome. If she is feeding well and is otherwise happy and without illness, this is not a problem. It is not a sign of cerebral palsy. Just make sure that she is feeding well. As stated, if the feeding is going well, you have nothing to worry about.

Brief Answer:
GERD

Detailed Answer:
Regarding the tongue, GERD doesn't make a difference. However, if her GERD is causing persistent or prolonged irritability, it should be treated.
