Brief Answer:
Yes 180 mg is overdose

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I am sorry to know of the situation that you and your family are going through.

It usually takes 4 - 5 days to bring the patient out of crisis in such cases.

It seems that she is out of crisis but has a bad headache.

She will be fine soon. Olmesartan is a newer medicine and its long term effects have not been studied well. But my clinical acumen says that she will recover soon. There may be some electrolyte and water disturbances which may be causing the headaches, these should get better. It is better to get tested for electrolyte levels in her blood and take treatment accordingly. Headaches may also be due to stress in which case she will need psychiatric evaluation.

180 mg of olmesartan is an overdose.

As family, you will need to provide support to her and her kids, while being practical at all times. Someone has to be there with her. It is possible that she is going through some stress and she may try an overdose again. She can go for yoga and meditation classes to relieve from stress.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

First of all, Thanks for your early reply!!

In continuation to the above reports I have submitted earlier, I also want to acknowledge you that the Blood Pressure of the patient is stable at around 110-80 range, with pulse rate (55-60). An it is consistent by last 2-3 days. Does this normal range of BP is somewhere shows good signs of the recovery?

- As far as psychological things we are concerned about, she is enthusiastic about being well and want to get well soon to the normal state. As this overdose was purely an accident but me and my family will take care of this in future to prevent such incidents again.

- Does this overdose (the exact dose was 160 mg) can impact to any other part of the body in future or after the current recovery process? (As this incident happened around 14 days ago and all the reports I have submitted here are the current after all the medical treatments she has been through.)

- As per your suggestion for electrolyte level test. I make the reports for the same available by tomorrow.

- Currently, the doctors prescribed her following medicines:
- PAN-40 (In morning empty stomach)
- SERTA-25 (In after noon)
- QUTAN-25 (In night before sleep)
- Ketrip-10 (In night before sleep)
- ZERODOL - 200 mg (only when the severe headache - but currently this is being used in every 24 hrs, as the headache occurs once in between)
- LARPOSE 1 mg (only when feel anxiety & un-comfortableness)

Please suggest if these medicines are good to cure the patient or there should be any change. As you have already been through the reports.

It will be very kind of you and a great help for us.

Thanks!!

Brief Answer:
Normal BP is reassuring

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

It is good that she has normal blood pressure.

The overdose is not much studied, but my clinical acumen says that she should recover completely from its effects. She may experience some swelling in body (if she has it now). Otherwise even swelling is not expected.

Regarding psychiatric consultation, her treating doctor has put her on anti-depressant (serta and qutan) medicines. If she had no signs of stress or depression before the episode and she is not stressed now then she does not need some of the medicines mentioned above. It is quite possible that she is feeling better (enthusiastic) now because of these medicines. Since I am not her treating doctor, I cannot discontinue her medicines. She has to consult her doctor and clarify with him regarding these medicines.

Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot Dr. ....a lot !

Nothing ,yes nothing at all throughout the running hours but every evening (3-6pm) that headach is taking place which is making her hugely uncomfortable and denting her confidence day by day.

Otherwise she is living a very normal life ,no signs at all that she is ill or what so ever.Having nice diet ,talking on family topics , watching tv , and nothing up-setting in behaviour.

We are concerned because we are giving her a Zerodol 200mg every evening and some one told us that Zerodol 200mg is also a harmful thing if we uses it regularly as we r doing.(by 4-5 days)

Blood pressure reading's are still nice in 120-85 range.
We also want to knew that how much time Zerodol 200mg takes to start its work against pain as she is getting relief in just 5-10min only and pain goes away just after 5-10min when we used the pill.

Should we wait a little more ?

Does these things can impact to any other part of the body in future or after the current recovery process? (As this incident happened around 15 days ago and all the reports we have submitted here are the current after all the medical treatments she has been through.) ?

Our doctors are suggesting that we should make a trip to hills or somewhere to provide her a little freshness as they thinks that she is all right now and this pain is just nothing more than a psychological matter.Does it help .,,.?

we all members of family wants to thank you from the depth of our heart for all the support u are providing, regards !

Brief Answer:
There can be few reasons for headaches

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

There can be few causes of headache in her case.
1. due to olmesartan
2. Due to depression
3. due to electrolyte imbalance, since she may have been given saline and other iv fluids in hospital and also due to olmesartan
4. due to medicines she is taking

Either we rule out these conditions with examination, psychiatric consultation and tests for electrolytes. Or we can wait and watch if she improves by herself.

Should not impact other organs.

Going out for a change does help especially if the person is feeling low and stressed by her situation.
