Brief Answer:
Provide more details and reports

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Your brother is suffering from epilepsy.
The duration of treatment depends upon type of epilepsy.
In some cases drugs may have to be taken lifelong.
In majority, the drug can be stopped safely after 3 years of controlled seizure.
You need to provide more details.
What was the Mri findings?
Any eeg reports?
Any history of fever, head injury, family history of seizure, alcohol intake?
Any history of myoclonic jerks like episodes especially in morning?
You need to get him examined by a neurologist.
A brain Mri and eeg needs to be done.
Drugs need to be restarted.
