Is Endometrium Thickness Of 10.1 Mm A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: I had an endometrium thickness of 10.1 mm on 6 weeks 3 days of gestational age after IVF. But the TVS could not identify any gestational sac or fetal pole. The OS was closed. Myometrial pathology and adnexal pathology was nil. The beta-hcg level was 4917. What am I to expect? Will there be any ectopic pregnancy? Another TVS has been advised after seven days.

Brief Answer:
Ectopic pregnancy should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
If there is no intrauterine gestational sac at 6 weeks gestation, then chances of ectopic pregnancy can be there.
You should get a transvaginal ultrasound done to detect any extruterine pregnancy.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

It was a transvaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days. And it showed myometrial pathology and adnexal pathology nil. Am concerned. Is it possible that at 7-8 weeks the sac an fetal pole can be seen ib a repeat scan?

Brief Answer:
Gestational sac should appear by 4-5 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, the fetal node can appear late, however the gestation sac should appear by 4-5 weeks in a transvaginal ultrasound.
