Is Decreasing GFR Worrisome While On Medication For Hypertension?
Question: Hello Doctor, I did a Kidney Function test in April. ( Reports attached). My Serum Creatinine was within normal range 1.12 mg/Dl and GFR 73. I repeated the tests last week. My Creatinine had increased to 1.18 and GFR reduced to 68. I also did a renal doppler(report attached). I have mild BP as well and taking 2.5 mg Amlong tablets. I am really worried with the decreasing GFR. Kindly advice. Please also help for any diet restrictions. I have cut down on non-veg food. Anything else I need to be careful of.
Brief Answer:
Please attach reports
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I think you forgot to attach the reports here. Please attach it.
With the values mentioned all of the values are normal range. Declining values are of no clinical significance if they are within normal range.

Brief Answer:
Reports are normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I checked all the reports uploaded including the MRI and Renal doppler.
All are within normal limits for now.
A minor reduction in GFR should not worry you as long as it is within normal limits. The GFR is highly variable so cannot be read with the single number alone.
You can continue to taking Amlong as per your doctor. Keep the blood pressure under control and weight as well.
Reduce amount of sugar and processed food. Eat food that is short lived (which spoils if not consumed quickly) without adding any preservatives like sugar, salt and other commercial preservatives Try to choose food that is as close to nature as possible which is fruit, vegetable. Non veg can be taken in moderate quantity.
