Brief Answer:
It needs to be seen what kind of mass it is .
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query.
Well, it needs to be looked into what the hard mass is all about. Did you injure yourself at that point which lead to all this? There is a also a possibility of abscess. Please provide the exact history that since how long you have been having that mass and what was the preceding event? Also, tell if you are on antiplatelets it may also lead to internal bleeding .
If you can send a pic that would be helpful.

IT'S BEEN 2-3 DAYS. I FEEL IT'S DUE TO WATER RETENTION. NO COLOR CHANGE, JUST HARD AREA RIGHT WHERE LEG BENDS AT INNER RIGHT THIGH AREA. SIZE 6 INCHES X 6 INCHES
I KNOW I NEED TO BE SEEN BY DOC, IT'S HARD DUE TO WEATHER. SHOULD I USE HOT OR COLD COMPRESS
NOT ON antiplatelets

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Since the etiology is not clear it would be difficult to say but the place where you are staying is quite cold so it would definitely be better to use a hot compress as using cold compress may cause necrosis of tissue in cold weather so go for a hot one .
