Brief Answer:
24 hour ambulatory BP monitor can be offered

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

One blood pressure reading should not be relied upon to make the diagnosis of hypertension. The blood pressure can be checked thrice a day for a week. If the readings are persistently elevated above 140/90 then ambulatory blood pressure monitoring can be advised. If the reading comes back to normal then there is no need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

As I mentioned before, ideally thrice a day BP home monitoring for a week with documented elevation should be there. If there is marked elevation then anti hypertensive medication can be initiated without waiting for ambulatory results. However, if there is up and down pattern then 24 hour ambulatory monitor is the best way to be more sure.
