Is Back And Stomach Cramps Accompanied By Brown Spotting Symptom Of Miscarriage?
Question: Hi...I'm 6 weeks pregnant today. I've also been having back and stomach cramps today, accompanied by some brown spotting. My breasts are less sore than they gave been. Is this normal, or am I starting to miscarry? Please help....

The slight brown spotting that you are having can be due to a threatened abortion. This is due to incomplete attachment of the placenta to the uterine wall. To confirm this you can get your serum beta HCG levels evaluated. A rising titre will suggest a viable pregnancy.
I would also suggest you to get a TVS scan done to find out the yolk sac and fetal cardiac activity. This will also help in ruling out the ectopic pregnancy.
You need to consult your gynecologist for the investigations and if the pregnancy is normal then get progesterone supplements prescribed to support the placenta.
Avoid any strenuous activity till then.
