Posted on Mon, 21 Jul 2014
Question: I have attached 2 pictures of a white lump that i noticed on my anus. Im not sure what it may be, but my research tells me its probably not good. I have had anal sex before. What do you think it is and how bad is it? is it treatable? No pain with the lump. I feel healthy and no pre existing health conditions.

Brief Answer:
HIV testing is the surest way to rule out HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
HIV infected individuals may likely to have symptom free even for 5- 10 years. Earliest symptoms may likely to occur as 'FLU'like syndrome only with 50% of the infected and not with all.
Testing for HIV after 12 weeks is the surest way to rule out HIV.
