Is Alcohol Advisable While On Ofloxacin And Ornidazole?
Question: I am a male of 34 yrs.
I had a feeling of little stomach upset with semisolid motions.
So I took one O2 tablet: ofloxacin 200 mg, ornidazole 500 mg. 7 hrs ago.
Now, after 7 hrs, I was planning to consume alcohol.
Pls guide me if I can consume alcohol without any chemical reactions.

It is an antibiotic and you should take this only after consulting doctor. Presently based on the information I would not have suggested you this medication.
To address problem like yours, I usually prescribe capsule omeprazole 20 mg once daily before breakfast, empty stomach for 5 days and probiotics like sporolac or ecobion.
Furthermore, I also highly advise to: -
1. Eat often, small portions and slowly, eat home made fresh food rather than outside fast food.
2. Avoid carbonated drinks/fatty foods, spicy food, meat for few day's. Avoid alcohol and smoking.
3. Add more fibres to your diet. Eat curd it will be beneficial.
Regarding the alcohol consumption, I would suggest you to avoid it till you complete the course of antibiotics. As alcohol when taken with this agent can cause gastritis and may aggravate your symptoms.
