Brief Answer:
Not likely to be Herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Herpetic infection presents with recent onset of painful and multiple ulcers and not as a painless swelling. The small nodule in vulva can be due to folliculitis, sebaceous cyst or genital warts. A direct examination will help in diagnosis.

What would be the treatment for folliculitis or sebaceous cyst? Would a biopsy be necessary or could it just be treated with anabiotic's ?

From descriptions online it appears it may be a Bartholin's gland cyst . Does this need to be removed via biopsy or can it be left alone .

Brief Answer:
Needs biopsy if infected.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.

If it is painless and small in size then it can be left alone. In case it gets infected or is painful then it has to be removed surgically.

Medicines can only help in controlling the infection. However it can be a Bartholin's gland cyst also.

Hope my answer is helpful.
