Question:
Does taking single does of Mifeprin adequate for abortion?
My wife is pregnant , last period was03/02/2016. Doctor advice to take 1 Mifeprin tablet and 2 Zitotec 200 ( 2 tablet together orally) and 2 Zitotec 200 vaginally.Please advice whether 1 Mifeprin is sufficient or not.
Does Mifeprin and Zitotec help in successful abortion?

Hi,

I understand your concerns about abortion.

Abortion with medicines depends on the stage of pregnancy. Early pregnancy by about 6 weeks can be terminated by medicines and not later.

it is important to know the pregnancy weeks by getting ultrasound scan done and assess the feasibility of abortion by medicines alone.

It is advisable to take the medicines as per your doctor's advice which includes mifeprestone and misoprostol (zitotec). Taking only mifeprestone tablet may not help.
