Is A Saliva Producing Drug Recommended While Having Dry Mouth And Eczema?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: I have had dry mouth for about four months and the only medication that may have caused it, Buprofen, I am not taking any longer. Apparently, that wasn't the cause. While I understand this may be difficult to diagnose as sjogren's syndrome, isn't it ok to be prescribe medication to help produce saliva? I am a 57 year old female, no health issues other than eczema on my hands, a bout with bursitis in my elbow that has not completely healed and sore joints - mostly after a particularly grueling workout.

I have seen my dr. and she wants to see me again to discuss medications. I am on zoloft and prempro. Neither of these, as she advised last visit, should cause this and I have been on them for a long time. I am on the lowest dose of prempro and weaning off them, every other day. The zoloft dose is also very low.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

Yes, saliva producing drugs can be indicated in your case.
