Is A Red Spot On Head Of Penis A Symptom Of Broken Vein?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 May 2016
Question: Hi, I suddenly have a small dark spot on head of my penis. Almost looks like an age spot. It is small and no sign of anything other than discoloration like an age spot? Could it be a broken vein that caused the spot. It is not a bump and does not hurt

Brief Answer:
Can be melanotic macule

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Health Care Magic

I don't think a broken vein can cause this kind of discolouration.

It can be a Melanotic macule which is a benign condition.

I would recommend you to upload the photographs of the spot so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.

Dr Asmeet

I just uploaded the pic. I think you are correct on your diagnosis since I researched it and found similar pictures. It does not hurt or I cannot feel anything . It is just a change in color. Why did it suddenly appear after 57 years?

Brief Answer:
Seems to be melanotic macule

Detailed Answer:

I have reviewed the attached photograph and I think its melanotic macule.
This is a benign disorder which can occur at any age. There is no specific age for the occurence of melanotic macules.

But if it shows sudden increase in size or change in colour you should consult a dermatologist and get a biopsy done.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
