Question: Hi- I took an Oraquick at-home HIV test at 52 days post sex. I have sex with a female (I am a male) and wore a condom for this activity which did not break. The results of my test were negative. How accurate is this? Just looking for some peace of mind. Thanks

Brief Answer:
You are not at risk of getting HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your query and understand the concern you are worried about.

You had protected sex with a female than nothing to worry at all about HIV as the possibility is nil.

The ora-quick test result after 52 days is negative which is also in your favour so be relaxed as you are absolutely safe and free from HIV.

Hope this info will help you. For any further query get back to me any time. Stay happy and healthy.

Thank You

Hi Dr.

So I just want to confirm that the Oraquick test would be able to pick up any possible HIV? Is the possibility I have HIV very low?

Brief Answer:
There is no possibility of HIV at all.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The ora-quick test is definitely able to pick up virus antibody if any infection is present. The test result is negative then there is no possibility of HIV at all. Forget about the incidence and move ahead in life.

Thank You
