There seems to be a swelling with redness on the eye lid. It looks like an external hordeolum which is a blocked and inflammed glands in the eyelid. Besides hot compressess, it would be better to start an antibiotic ointment to treat infection. Sometimes, medical treatment may not be helpful and a minor surgical treatment where the gland is incised and content are drained to promote healing.
