Is A Deep Brain Dizzy Twinge A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Tue, 19 Apr 2016
Question: Does a deep brain dizzy twinge indicate anything serious? I first had one in December of 2015. I had some dizzy instances occasionally but not with a sharp twinge. I have experienced a few twinges since. Now 2 months later I had a more acute dizzy spell. I took 25 grams of meclazine (sp) and ended up sleeping 4 hours. I am still a little dizzy but not as bad.

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Occasional intermittent dizziness of short duration at this age may be due to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). other possibilities may be vestibular neuritis or syncopal attacks.
Are you having any vomiting, fever, positional vertigo, headache, loss of facial sensation, speech changes, gait abnormalities, dysphagia?
Any history of recent viral infection or rhinitis?
Any hypertension?
if you are having benefit from meclizine then continue it. Other options are betahistine, cinnarizine.
Take plenty of fluids too.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

I am on a low dose of BP medicine. My gait is sometimes irregular. I get 'floaters' in my vision more frequently. No fever, 97.6 this am. As far as I know no viral issue.
