Is A Benign Mole On The Body A Concern?

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Jun 2016
Question: I have had this mole for as long as I can remember. It does not hurt, doesn't itch, and doesn't bleed. I am concerned about it being melanoma because of a recent comment someone made.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be a melanoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic,

I have gone through your query and picture uploaded by you.

It looks like melanocytic nevi.

Melanoma has certain characteristic which doesn't fits with your lesion.
these characteristics are:-
A= Asymmetry
B- Irregular border
C=Uneven distribution of colors
D=Diameter more than 6 mm
E= Evolve or change in mole

As your mole is same and not fits in the criteria of melanoma so it is unlikely.
you can go for dermatopathology to confirm the benign nature of mole.

Hope this will help you.
Thanks
