Question: utovlan norethisterone is used for what ?, can i be pregnant after using it ?

Utovlan (norethisterone) is a progesterone analogue which is used in menstrual irregularities or to delay the periods . It is not a contraceptive and one can get pregnant while on this drug.

Thanks for your quick reply, so to confirm

So i get it for 10 days, and after 10 days , bleeding will start, is it ? and i can start to prepare to have a baby and my mens will be as normal next month

Hi DR,

I took the last Decapeptly on March 2015, I have been operated to remove the endometriosis and fibrome.

Since then am not bleeding for mens.. Tested if am not menopause, its negative.

Yesterday my DR, made me an echography, he said all is ok but am not pregnant so he give me that utovlan norethisterone for 10 days he said that this make me bleed after 10 days ... and i can start preparing for having a baby

AM confused ....

Hi dear, thanks for responding.
Amenorrhea or not having periods for 3-4 monthd is a common side effect of decapeptyl injection.
Utovlan will help you get your periods and thereafter you can start trying for conception. You can very well plan for the baby.
You should also start taking folic acid 5 mg tablet once day from now onwards, as taking it in preconceptional period and in early pregnancy decreases the chance of congenital anomalies in the baby.
I suggest you not to worry.
