Is Urotone The Right Medicine For Urinary Urgency?
Question: I am 61 years old.... i have feeling urgency in urinating from the last 1 year....i do feel sometimes relax for 10 to 15 days, thereafter problem again starts....i have undergone a test in BLK hospital XXXXXXX ..Urodynamic study(UDS) where in it is found being a diabetic for the last 15 years, there is muscle weakness in the bladder...As for the findings of expert doing test have given comments has a Dyfunction detusor diabetic cystropathy....My clinical tests latest are as under:-
1. Hb1Ac:- 6.40
2.Serum creatinine:- 0.99
3. Choletstrol: 139
4.Triglycerids:- 134
but there is a symptoms of proteins in 24 hrs urine....total protein for 24 hrs is 0.38 g/DAy...Urine volume 3000 ml....i have already undergone partial nephrorectomy at Gangaram hospital and recovered fully but only urgency in urinating is there...At present i am taking UROTONE 0.4 mg twice a day....Capsule DIAVETONE PN once a day and Urimax 0.4 mg bed time daily...Now You may kindly prescribe me any suitable medicine or requisite exercise if required for recovery of my problem along with diet chart...However sugar is very much in control at present as per daily check by glucometer....

Dear Sir,
I had a good long look at all the investigations you have uploaded, and if it is indeed a diabetic cystopathy, the treatment we give under normal circumstances for urinary urgency like Tab. Dariten or Darilong 7.5mg once daily might not work well and might even have adverse effect to the extent that your urine may stop completely. I suggest you continue the Urimax 0.4mg once daily as earlier, and the Urotone can be brought up to 25 mg thrice daily after meals, though this is of doubtful value.
If we need to change the medicines, what I would prefer are a few basic tests to be done at a reputed lab, and these include
1) Ultrasound of KUB and post void residue
2) Uroflowmetry
