Is Truvada Effective In Preventing HIV Infection?
Question: Hello sir i had sex with sex worker but condom. Broke during sex, im really scared. On the same day i got her tested anti body test and hiv pcr dna test. anti body result is non-reactive and dna result is not detected.i went to doctor he prescribed me truveda alone i started taking after 10 hours. Im. Feeling nervous and frustrated. Is truveda alone enough and shall i get her tested for any other test please guide me

Recommended post exposure prophylaxis regimen include Tenofovir + Emtricitabine (Truvada) once daily plus Raltegravir, twice daily.
Since you already got your sexual partner tested with DNA PCR therefore most likely she is HIV negative but still a broken condom is a risk factor for transmission from a potential HIV positive partner therefore I suggest you to continue PEP (pls ask your doctor to add Raltegravir 400mg, twice daily as well).

Sir after how many days she can infect others after she get infection. And what is window period of pcr dna test

After infection, HIV may take up to 5 days to be detected in blood and later on becomes detectable in other body fluids i.e vaginal fluid, semen, cerebro-spinal fluid etc so sexual contact with a recently infected person may further pass on the infection after at least 5-7 days post infection. Not before that.
