Question: Does Trazodone 50 mg's contain an MAOI? Is Trazodone an MAOI? I'd like to take zyrtec-D allergy/congestion med along with a daily dose of Trazodone

Dear Ms, Trazodone is not a MAOI. But Zyrtec is an antihistaminic that can cause the side effect of drowsiness . Trazodone also cause drowsiness . Taking them together can potentiate the central nervous system side effects leading to more severe drowsiness , confusion, memory loss and difficulty breathing . I recommend that you don't combine these 2 drugs together . I hope I answered your question.
